PLAY: Game of Thrones Tour with Gray Line Review

Love Game of Thrones? Love Iceland? Why not combine the two in this epic tour by Gray Line. I’ve been lucky enough to travel to quite a few GOT destinations, and I’ve done tours at all of them because duhhh, it’ Game of Thrones! The Iceland one was easily my favourite, and the guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

You go to around 6-7 filming destinations, and you’re driven around all day in an extremely comfortable 4WD coach that takes you on the adventure of a lifetime. From the epic battle fought between Arya and the Hound in the mountains to the Blood Gates of the Eyrie, there are so many awesome scenes to see and attempt to recreate.

Our guide was armed with a great sense of humour, passion for Game of Thrones and was just a great bloke. He carried a massive book of laminated photos from GOT, and explained each scene in detail to us when we arrived at the shooting location.

Jamie and I really dorked out a few scenes, but especially the one where we were at the Blood Gates of the Eeyrie. You could almost feel the hound walking beside you as you climbed over rocks and boulders within the deep crevice.

It was a massive long day, and I’m so glad we did it. Even if you’re not massively into Game of Thrones, the places that this tour takes to you are beautiful. We hadn’t visited ANY of the destinations previously (this was at the end of our tour) and we were blown away by the sheer beauty of these places.

Did I mention the best part? You actually get to meet a physical Game of Thrones star! Sure, he's not a human but he's damn cute and that's all that matters. Go on, do yourself a favour and book a tour with Gray Line. You will LOVE it!
