My Spring Skin Routine Secrets
With a recent 32 degrees hitting Sydney on a Monday (while we all had to work!) it got me thinking - how can I look after my skin this spring? The warmer weather brings about drier skin, and we're more likely to be sunburnt during this time. That's why it is so important to stick to a consistent skin routine, and invest in your health.
I have two tricks in particular, that may seem obvious but my goodness do they WORK. Just by making these two small changes to your skin routine you'll be surprised in how much your skin will change.
Sleep on silk: Most of us know that sleeping on silk pillowcases is great to keep your hair looking good, but did you know it is equally as good for your skin? If you toss and turn in your sleep, then a silk pillowcase is for you. When we move in our sleep, we tend to crumple our pillowcase (unless it’s silk!) and that means we wake up with those weird pillow creases on our faces: these can be add to early wrinkles and look like they accelerate the ageing process.
Moisturise: It’s an oldie but a goodie… if you were to only ever use ONE beauty product ever again, let it be moisturiser. Morning and night, slather up your skin and let it drink in the buttery goodness of a decent moisturiser. I love Ego Skincare’s QV Moisturising Day Cream because it is light, can be applied before makeup and will last all day. It’s an inexpensive moisturiser and SPF 30-in-one that my dermatologist recommended, and I make sure I have a tube handy if I know I’m going to be out in the sun all day.
