The Ultimate Girls Weekend

with Fraser Place Melbourne

FRIDAY

Fly in to Melbourne, and catch the Skybus to the CBD. It’s only $19, and a super smooth journey to the heart of Melbourne.

First stop, the Miss Fox luxury day spa. Crowned World’s Best Beauty Salon 2018 in the World Spa Awards, Miss Fox is a multi-award winning sanctuary in central Melbourne. They offer a range oh holistic and empowering therapies, from luxury grooming to wellbeing services, they create a synergy when it comes to beauty from the inside to out.

I opted for the classic manicure experience, which includes a nail trim and file, cuticle care and a divine hand massage. It also meant getting to take my own bottle of Kester Black Nail Polish home. I chose white, as it’s a lovely neutral colour that goes with everything.

Fraser Place Melbourne is so centrally located, that major shopping outlets are located a mere 5 minutes walk away. After having a glass of complimentary bubbles at Miss Fox and admiring my nails, I headed to the shopping precinct. As it’s Spring Racing season, both Myer and David Jones were having incredible sales. I’d left my dress shopping to the last minute, and was lucky enough to meet a stylist in Myer who rescued me.

I found a dream dress from Mossman, that had been hidden out the back! Fun fact, if there is only one size of a dress left, many big department stores won’t put it out. Find a friendly staff member, tell them your shopping goals and they’ll help you find something beautiful… chances are, it’s out the back!

After finding my dress, I headed back to the hotel to explore and relax. Our hotel room was massive, and included two single beds, a large waterfall shower, private balcony and modern Melbourne-style art.

That evening we headed to Peaches, which is a well-known rooftop bar in Melbourne that offers 360 views of the bustling city centre. Directly about Swanston Street’s three-storey restaurant, Cheek, Peaches is probably the most Instagrammable bar I’ve ever been too. Grass-green stools circle terrazzo tables under peachy fishbowl lighting and heated bench seats. The vibe was unreal, the cocktails delicious and definitely will be on my list to visit again.

Dinner was at award-winning restaurant LESA, with a fixed four course menu that offers three choices at each step. The vibe was sultry meets sexy, with your journey starting at the dark internal staircase entering into the large, wine-lined and intimate room.

The wine list was more like a novel, and the staff were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Every option sounded incredible, and as the courses were brought out there were collective choruses of “ooh” and “ahhs” around the table.

From roasted scallops to salted brown sugar custard, every course was a taste sensation and really combined ingredients you’d never think to. If you visit, make sure you grab their signature flatbread. This artisanal masterpiece is a 2 day potato flatbread, served with macadamia cream and smoked shitake mushrooms. It melts in your mouth, and if it weren’t for the delicious four course meal, I probably would have ordered five of these as a main!

Full of wine, food and laughs for the night, we headed back to Fraser Place Melbourne and snuggled into bed, knowing that Saturday was going to be big!

SATURDAY

We had a beautiful sleep-in on Saturday morning, which I definitely attribute to the comfortable beds. They even had a pillow service, where you could choose your own pillow; I opted for the extra soft (my favourite!).

That morning we got up, and headed to the Caulfied Guinea Races, where there was glamour, glitz and champagne flowing! We spent the day in the Bondi Sands Marquee, where we had incredible elevated views of the racecourse, and our private pool.

The racecourse was only a 30 minute taxi ride away from Fraser Place Melbourne, and it was the ultimate girls day. We had so much fun exploring the grounds, drinking (lots) of delicious drink concoctions and admiring the fashions on the field.

When we ready to come home, there was literally a line of taxis waiting to take everyone back. The races were so well organised, and our driver knew exactly where Fraser Place Melbourne was. When we got back to the hotel, the temptation was real to just flop into the comfy beds and sleep… but we knew we had to explore!

Let me tell you this, it was a big night! A few bars that definitely were my favourite include Lustre Bar (epic hidden rooftop bar), the Daha Project (on the 14th floor, a nightclub that has unreal views!) and also the Rooftop at QT, which was absolutely stunning.

Sunday

We woke up on Sunday a tad hungover, but thanks to the brilliant facilities at Fraser Place Melbourne (bless the comfy beds and waterfall shower!) we woke up and felt ready to attack the day.

Our beautiful weekend in Melbourne ended at one of the most iconic brunch locations, at The Kettle Black. Let me just say this, if you’re looking for a super Instagrammable brunch spot that is also DELICIOUS, The Kettle Black is the spot for you.

We ordered their classic avocado on toast, and also shared their pink pancakes which were a taste sensation. Like a pink fluffy cake, every mouthful was so naughty yet SO worth it. After brunch, we said goodbye to our new found friends and headed to the airport.

I want to say a big thank you to Fraser Place Melbourne for organising such an incredible trip for us, and I’ll definitely be back. If you’re looking for affordable accommodation in central Melbourne, Fraser Place should be your go-to!
