REVIEW: The Q1 Resort and Spa - a world of luxury.

When I asked the Live with Elle community where to stay in Surfer’s Paradise, there was only one place that was recommended more than twenty times. Cue, the Q1 Resort and Spa. It’s Australia’s tallest residential building, and offers unparalleled views over kms of beach that stretch along the Eastern Coast of QLD.

From the moment we walked into the lobby, I knew it was going to be a special trip. We were met by the lovely Natalie from the front desk, who talked us through the Q1 and secured our parking for us. The Q1 has three pools (two outdoor, one indoor), a cinema, gym, family games room and spa within the facilities. No matter what time of the year you visit the Q1, there’s always something to do and see if you don’t feel like leaving your room.

If you’re keen to head to the beach, the famous Surfer’s Paradise is a mere 5 minute walk away. As is the much-loved Cavill Avenue, where you’ll find every type of cuisine, cafe and bar lining the streets. It’s also a fabulous place to go out for a drink (or ten!).

We were very lucky, and stayed in a three-bedroom sub-penthouse apartment that offered views of the city and beach from every single window. The apartment was absolutely massive, and had three bedrooms (two with both a queen and single bed in them), three bathrooms plus extra toilet, a large self-catering kitchen with coffee machine, pool table, TV in every room and two separate outdoor areas.

I’m not exaggerating when I say this place took my breath away. Around every corner was another exciting feature, from the hanging egg chair in it’s own cosy reading nook to the walk-in wardrobe attached to the main bedroom, no detail or luxury has been missed in the 3 bedroom sub-penthouse apartment in the Q1.

The master bedroom had a comfortable, massive king bed, plasma tv with Foxtel, entry to a private balcony, large bathroom with a waterfall shower, tub for two and robes and a large walk in wardrobe. It offers incredible views of the water, and is a room where relaxation is the number one focus.

The other two bedrooms both had a double and single in each room, and both had separate bathrooms as well - one even had its own large bath as well! The rest of the apartment offered stunning views around every corner, lots of natural sunlight, an entertainer’s kitchen, pool table and large plush couch with a plasma tv. The best part? The outdoor private room. It had a large table with six seats, and also around the corner had a separate lounge. The views from the 70th were so special, and it was a real privilege to have our own outdoor room to enjoy them!

There’s no need to think about staying at the Q1; it’s a must. For a once in a lifetime view and holiday, make sure you book a sub-penthouse apartment at the Q1. You can read more about them here, and they’re surprisingly well-priced when you think about the level of luxury and splitting it between a few people!
