PLAY: Alpacaly Ever After Review
If you've ever wanted to walk an alpaca amongst some of the most beautiful grounds in the world, have I got some exciting news for you. Alpacaly Ever After is the most memorable holiday experience I've ever had, and I wanted to share it with you all.
Located on the pristine grounds of the Lingholme Estate, Alpacaly Ever After offers a unique behind the scenes tour of the private grounds whilst walking your very own alpaca.
We met with our guide, Terry, at the very gates where two white alpacas stood. People had been crowding round trying to pat them, so we assumed these were our two ready to go. We were SO wrong. Terry informed us that there were many more alpacas, and we could even choose which ones we wanted to walk! He took us down to the private alpaca grounds, where we squealed with delight at the sheer number of beautiful animals there were.
I chose a big white fella called Boo, while Jamie chose a handsome (MASSIVE!) guy called Big Willy. I hopped in the alpaca pen to help Terry put them on their leashes, and it was an incredible experience to get so close with these beautiful animals.
The next 90 minutes are almost indescribable, because they were just so damn magical. Terry was extremely knowledgeable about the grounds, and also the host in the entire world. He took my camera off me, and for the next 90 minutes turned into this crazy talented photographer and videographer. I really treasure all the photos and videos he took for us, as they’ve created these life long memories that I’ll always be able to look back on.
The alpacas themselves are really gorgeous, friendly creatures that have very unique personalities. By the end of the 90 minutes, you couldn’t wipe the smiles off our faces. 90 minutes is more than enough time to form a bond with an animal, and the alpacas really did steal our hearts.
If there is only ONE thing you do in the Lake District, let it be an Alpacaly Ever After Tour with Terry. He’s an absolute legend and my favourite person we met on our entire trip.
