STAY: Citadines on Bourke

From the moment we walked into Citadines on Bourke, I was impressed. The sheer height of the building and central location means you can’t miss it. The tram located out the very front makes it very accessible, and it’s surrounded by shops, eateries and local tourist sites.

The staff are extremely efficient, always have a smile on their face and are willing to go the extra mile to assist you in anything you may need. We rocked up and instantly felt relaxed and reassured we’d chosen a great hotel.

When we got up to our room (level 19, woohoo!) we were just blown away. I’m sure most of you saw my million snapchats about the view, but I just couldn’t look away. I felt like I could see ALL of Melbourne, and felt like we were royalty.

The room was MASSIVE, and fully serviced meaning we could have just done a big shop and cooked in the room for the next couple of nights if we’d needed to or didn’t have the budget to eat out.

The decors in the Citadines is very bright, and I adore the bright pops of colour mixed in with the traditional hotel neutrals throughout the room. I was delighted to find plush bath robes, and I would say I spent about 99% of the time wearing one when I was in the room.

The main stand out about the Citadines (besides the location, beautiful colours and wonderful staff) would have to be the beds. They were plush, very warm and welcoming. Both mum and I wouldn’t often sleep in, but it would have been a crime not to in those beds.

There is also a heated pool, gym and sauna on location which is fantastic for those who are travelling for work, play or just a holiday in general. The hotel was extremely family friendly, and judging by the amount of pilots and Australian sporting teams we watched check in, also very popular with just about anyone and everyone!

I’d recommend Citadines on Bourke to anyone that is perhaps travelling with a family, solo or with a group of friends and is looking for somewhere that won’t blow your budget (though feels like 5 stars!) and is located right in the heart of Melbourne.
