The best afternoon tea in London - Mayfair Kitchen REVIEW
I’ve only lived in London for 10 months, but during that time I’ve managed to visit just about
EVERY high tea location you can – I’m obsessed! When I was recently offered the chance to
try the afternoon tea at the Mayfair Kitchen, I absolutely jumped at the opportunity.
Set in the foyer of the luxe Mayfair Hotel, the natural light filled room is adorned with
marble tables, and embellished with fresh flowers and the smiling faces of the wait-staff.
We arrived with high expectations; after all, the hotel is a hot-spot for celeb spotting, and I've had friends stay at the Mayfair who had raved about it. As soon as we were seated, we were talked through the menu and offered our choice of any tea or coffee we wanted.
The sandwiches are unlimited, meaning if you get through the first round you can order as
many as you like. The scones were absolutely to die for. Melt in your mouth, freshly baked scones that we audibly uhmed and ahed at as we consumed them. Topped with fresh orange marmalade
and whipped cream, these are the ultimate high tea treat.
Dessert was another world entirely, including flourless orange and chocolate cake, sugared donuts and mini tiramisu. . Dana’s favourites were thetruffles (she finished them ALL off), mine was the champagne (because #extra), and Aaron was on a mission to try each of the teas on the menu.
If you’re after the ultimate luxe afternoon treat and what to show your friends when they’re
in town, you can’t go past the super luxe and decadent afternoon tea at the Mayfair Kitchen.
