Exercise is the key to happiness.
I'm all about eating well and maintaining a good exercise regime, but have you ever thought of the other benefits of exercise? As I was driving to the gym this morning (I live way too far to walk!) I must have passed at least 20 people either running or walking on the footpaths. Some were on their own, others with a dog and the rest with a loved one or friend. The one thing that they all had in common -
a smile on their face! Exercise releases
endorphins that help to put you in a good mood! Endorphins are the body's natural 'feel good' chemicals, which are released through high intensity cardiovascular exercise, such as HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) or an aerobics class. Studies have shown that endorphins released during a workout can actually help people recover from mild depression, and can produce a feeling of euphoria! So next time you are feeling down, lazy or in one of those 'I can't do anything' moods, just remember that a great workout will improve your mood, confidence and fitness!
