REVIEW: Gillian Adams Spa and Salon - the most beautiful spa in NSW.

Is this Australia’s most luxurious spa? A review of Gillian Adam’s Spa and Salon.

When I was researching for luxurious spas in NSW, there was one spa that was recommended to me more than any other - Gillian Adams Spa in Turramurra. After having a look at the decadent spa treatment menu, I knew I’d have to visit to experience it for myself.

The Gillian Adams Spa is located in leafy Turramurra, and is easy to miss if you’re not sure what you’re looking for. You can find parking on Boyd Road, which is the opposite side of where the spa is through the back entrance. As soon as you push through the criss-cross heavy metal doors, you enter a completely new world.

You literally walk from a busy road into a foyer that exudes calm and elegance, and the sounds of the outside world vanish. Instead they’re replaced with the sound of trickling fountains, calming music and the smell of beautiful essential oils. You’re greeted at the desk by the friendly staff, who give you a document to fill out any skin concerns and personal history.

At Gillian Adams Spa, every treatment is personalised to your skin type, and they ask what improvements you’d like to see at the end of the treatment. After you’ve filled in your paperwork, the staff give you a tour of the spa grounds and they are SO stunning. From a plush navy lounge complete with fresh fruit and tea to the outdoor restaurant in lush greenery, every room has been designed to provide an aura of calm and luxury.

You’ll be given your own private locker, where a plush gown, waterproof (and very comfortable) branded slides, a towel and disposable underwear will be waiting. The bathrooms are decked out with every beauty product you’d ever need as well, including shampoo, conditioner, dry shampoo and face wash. Once you've changed, your journey begins in the exclusive Aquamedic pool.

There are a variety of needle points and massage jets in the 33 degree oxygenated water, and it’s an incredibly calming hour. It gives you time to gather your thoughts, find tranquility and really relax your muscles in the warm water. There is also a steam room that offers an intensified aromatherapy experience, which is perfect for building immunity and sweating out any toxin buildup.

After you’ve spent time in the Aquamedic pool, it’s up to you. You can go to the hair salon, one of the many treatment rooms or head to the garden to experience breakfast, lunch or high tea with complimentary wines. I opted for the ‘Le Classic Facial’, that is 50 minutes of complete and utter bliss. My beautician was Jessica, and I’d highly recommend her as both a facialist and wonderful human being. The facial included a revitalising mask, deep cleanse, exfoliation, ampoule and face, neck and shoulder massage that instantly brightens your complexion and leaves you floating on cloud nine.

I loved every part of the facial, but the best part was the incredible shoulder massage from Jessica. As she massaged out all of the knots, she placed an intensive and moisturizing sheet mask on my face that really left my skin glowing.

We finished the day in the tranquil garden, with sparkling wine and a very generous, decadent cheese platter. It was a platter for two, but easily could have fed four of us! There are so many amazing packages to choose from at Gillian Adams Spa and Salon, but if you’re looking for a similar experience to what I had, I’d gather a group of 4 friends together and opt for their ‘Le Social Spa-ing’ package, that includes the aquamedic pool and steam, choice of the classic facial or aromatherapy massage and cheese and wine. It would be such a wonderful day to spend with friends! There are also packages for couples, and if you’re feeling extra bougie, there is the ‘L’Escape Voyage’, that includes all of the above plus the Vichy shower, spa manicure and pedicure, shampoo, blow wave and a gourmet lunch.

If you are looking to treat yourself, have a spa day with girlfriends or are seeking the ultimate relaxation, I cannot recommend the Gillian Adams Spa and Salon enough. You can read the full treatment menu here, and more information on the spa itself here
