1. Block all social media while you work. Social media can distract us for hours on end, and many people don't realise just how long they are spending each day updating their Facebook status or latest Tweet. By disengaging from social media throughout the day, you'll be able to focus more on your work without any unwanted distractions.

2. Set daily goals/tasks. The best way to be organised is to write a 'To Do' list at the start of each day. Though it may seem overwhelming at first, you'll find that it actually forces you to make a plan for the day, causing you to manage your time better. Mark off the tasks one at a time - you'll be surprised at how rewarding it can be to finish a 'To Do' list!
3. Get up early. This one may seem pretty self explanatory, but we often waste the first few hours of our mornings in bed. Make a conscious effort to wake up earlier than normal, and you'll be surprised about how much more you achieve during the day.
4. Create a schedule. By planning what you're going to do that day, you'll find you can accomplish so much more. Use your 'To Do' list and plan your day, making sure you schedule in any food, work or an actual break into your day plan.
5. Don't procrastinate. When our examination periods come round, it is incredible at what we can find to do rather than study. Make sure you've switched off all social media, and make sure you're not doing work with distracting music playing or in front of the television... just get it done!
6. Get enough rest.  If you're getting up early, make sure you're getting to bed at a reasonable time. Adults need at LEAST seven hours sleep a night, but 8-9 is really ideal. We work better when we're not tired, so make sure you make sleep a priority.
7. Make time for yourself. When examinations come round, it can be very easy to get caught up in a web of constant study. Make sure you are taking enough study breaks that you don't feel too stressed. A great way to make time for yourself is to set aside time to watch one episode of your favourite TV show or to walk your dogs.
8. Prioritise. You're looking at your 'To Do' list, and slowly coming to the realisation that you simply cannot complete 36 tasks in 16 hours... and you don't have to! Go through your list and highlight what you absolutely have to get done that day. If you only get four things done that day, at least they will be the most important tasks.
9. Work out. There is ALWAYS time for exercise, and it is such an important step in making sure we stay healthy. Schedule in 30 minutes to go for a run or hit the gym for some weights. Studies have shown that exercise can help to relieve stress and also give us a clearer mind when it comes to study.
10. Be happy. How does this relate to time management? It's simple. Happiness gives us a clearer mind and helps us to become more determined to complete our tasks. If you are happy and loving what you are doing, it won't even seem like work!
